Fundraising News 2015

Thanks to your help in 2015 we raised a grand total of £1389.05 (plus gift aid) for charity!

In February we sold our old, disused dental crowns and bridges for scrap metal, raising £75.00 which we donated to Downham Market & District Macmillan Cancer Support.  For further information about how Macmillan Cancer Support improve the lives of people affected by cancer, please visit www.macmillan.org.uk

In May our Priory Dental Care quiz team (aka ‘Pearls of Wisdom’) won 2nd place in the Downham Market Lions Club Mega Quiz, donating the £100 prize money to the PSP Association (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy).  To read more about PSP, please visit www.pspassociation.org.uk

In September, members of the Priory Dental Care team completed ‘Go Insane’ – a 5k mud run obstacle course – raising £1055.00 (plus gift aid) for Big C, Norfolk’s Cancer Charity. During November, we raised £4.10 by selling blue ribbon badges for Mouth Cancer Action Month.  For further information about the Mouth Cancer campaign, and to find out how you can become more ‘mouthaware’,  please visit www.mouthcancer.org

And throughout the year we raised £154.95 for Dentaid from patients kindly giving their loose change, and making a donation for toothpaste samples.  For further information on the valuable work that Dentaid provide, improving the oral health within the developing world, please visit www.dentaid.org

We also donated our used printer cartridges to the Alzheimer’s Society and Cats Protection Downham Market.  These cartridges are then recycled to raise money for the charities.  For further information on how the Alzheimer’s Society support people living with dementia, please visit www.alzheimers.org.uk and for your local Cats Protection, please visit www.downhammarket.cats.org.uk
