Fundraising News!

Thanks to your help in 2021/22 we raised a grand total of £1237.00 (plus gift aid) for charity!

In October 2021, our Priory Dental Care quiz team (‘Pearls of Wisdom’) won 3rd place in the Downham Market Lions Club Quiz night, donating the £50 prize money to the new lifeboat station at RNLI Wells-Next-The-Sea.

In December 2021, members of the Priory Dental Care team dressed as Elves for the day, raising £72 for the Alzheimer’s Society. For more information on the vital work that the Alzheimer’s Society provide, please visit www.alzheimers.org.uk

In October 2022 the team took part in ‘Wear It Pink’ raising £215 for Breast Cancer Now. For more information on support, care and research Breast Cancer Now carry out, please visit www.breastcancernow.org

Throughout the last two years we raised £900 by recycling old dental crowns and bridgework. We split this between multiple charities in the following denominations; £300 to Norfolk Accident Rescue Service (NARS), £200 to Downham Dementia Support, £150 to the Neonatal Baby Unit, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, £125 to King’s Lynn Night Shelter and £125 to West Norfolk RSPCA.

We donated some dental equipment (which we no longer use due to advancements in our techniques and materials) to Dentaid, so that these can be used in their mobile units both in the UK and overseas. For further information on the valuable work that Dentaid provide, please visit www.dentaid.org

To help the planet, as well as fundraising, we are an official ‘public drop-off’ location for the Colgate® Oral Care Recycling Programme. For every kilo of Oral Care waste we collect, TerraCycle will donate £1 to our chosen charity – Big C – Norfolk’s Cancer Charity. Please ask our reception team about the types of oral care waste we can accept, or you can visit www.terracycle.com/en-GB/brigades/colgate-uk for further information.

We place all our Amazon orders through ‘AmazonSmile’. By ordering this way, a portion of the purchase price (approx 0.5%) is donated to the charity of our choice. Our chosen charity is currently the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

We also donated our old papers and magazines to the town paper bank, run by the Downham Market Rotary Club. These paper items are then recycled to raise money for charity.
