Practice Update…

We have finally completed our long awaited fourth surgery. We are all incredibly proud of how the practice, and the team, have grown and developed with Dr Martin Hako at the helm. This growth is set to continue with some exciting new plans in the pipeline… watch this space for further news!

Although we now have treatment rooms ready and waiting to go, our difficulty has been finding suitable clinicians to join our practice team. Unfortunately, we are not alone in experiencing this particular challenge. There is currently a national shortage of dental professionals, with experienced clinicians leaving the industry, and dental practices across the country being forced to close.

Since the COVID restrictions changed the way in which we were able to work, each and every member of our team have been working incredibly hard to reduce the backlog of appointments. We are fully aware that our current waiting times are longer than we would all like, and we understand the frustration and disappointment this is causing. We wish to assure you that we are doing everything we can to reduce these waiting times, and have been putting extra measures in place to alleviate the situation.

Demand for dental services is currently outstripping capacity. Therefore, at present, we are unable to accept any new patients. However, once we have secured an additional dentist, and our waiting times are back to a normal level, we will be re-opening our books.

Whilst we empathise with peoples frustrations, we kindly ask that our team are treated with respect and consideration. It saddens us to find ourselves faced with increasing levels of verbal abuse and aggressive behaviours. We come to work to help and care for people, not to be shouted and sworn at for issues which are currently beyond our control. Please don’t forget we are human beings too.
